Islay fly-in is indeed the 23rd of August.
It has been moved from the Sunday to the Saturday, this is because Islay has 2 passenger flights on a Sunday and the airport wants the airport free for those.
Will probably fly up on the Saturday morning and back home on Sunday.

Hi all,
If you want to stop off on the way back, Strathaven Airfield (south of Glasgow, east of Prestwick) has its Open Day on the Sunday.
Public around from 1pm until 5pm - no flying between 2pm and 4pm to allow hovercraft, power kites and radio-controlled model jets to use the main runway. Times subject to slight change on day due to weather (ie if poor and getting worse, then runway will open early to get people away!)
That weekend is also the Strathaven Hot Air Balloon Festival. The "night glow" on the Saturday night is quite amazing.
Feel free to camp over at the airfield and no landing fees that weekend.
Very best,
XA
