It is listed in the AIP ENR section as being a route designator and compulsory reporting point.
Looks like the eurocontrol database does not have it because it accepts the designators either side.

Hey hey,
Check the en-route NOTAMS, the DVL VOR has been temporarily replaced by VMP (frequency 117.20MHz).
Caused a bit of a stir when we got a 'direct VMP' over the radio and it wasn't in our nav database!
Not 100% sure but this could be the cause of your troubles!
