Whilst flying in the Philippines into a strip with HT lines close to the departure end on the active, my passenger commented on the proximity of the "hypertension lines".

At another shortish field, often shrouded in haze, we talk of acquiring the "mangolizer" - a prominent mango tree and definite aid to navigation.

Any takers?

Best,

I once commented to my instructor during a (daytime) approach about the very handy line of telegraph poles in the field before the airport, on the same line as the runway centreline.

He managed not to snigger as he told me that they were the approach lights DOH! ....
