Hawarden A/D, ATC, ATZ etc is notamed closed Sun 25th/ Mon 26th May, no reason given but then again, Monday is a Bank Holiday so perhaps it's cheaper to close on both days rather than pay O/Time (not that the Serco ATC chaps know what that is
).

Worth noting that Hawarden operates on a restricted licence, so the operators are free to close the airfield when they wish and do so regularly when the factory is closed, and every now and then when some maintenance or improvement work is being carried out.
The restricted licence also means they don't have to let you fly in if you want to. A while back I heard of somebody who called up on the radio but hadn't telephoned for permission first and the response to his request to land was a simple 'why?' The moral? Ask nicely on the phone first and there shouldn't be a problem.
