AVGAS-where is the cheapest????
[/B]just received an email re rise in AVGAS again at my local club.
Where is the cheapest AVGAS in the UK???????
After all there are only 3 AVGAS Lorries that deliver the same fuel for SHELL, so it would be interseting to see what the variation is.
Cheers
As from Monday April 21st the price of AVGAS will be #1.52 inc Vat and Jet will be #0.83 inc Vat.

This question comes up regularly on this forum. Perhaps the moderators would consider a sticky with a link to this page (if that's permitted). If everyone makes the effort to update it for their local airport (it only takes a few seconds) we all benefit.

£1.52 is a ridiculous amount of money for AvGas, however what more would you expect from WLAC!!!!??
They can, so they will.....................

You Brits Love paying so much for your GAS!
Isn't it about time you changed your Non-elected Prime Minister, you know the one that told the UN today that democracy was important with reference to the other non-elected leader Uncle Bob.
According to The Times on line he is already lining up another non-elected person to take over called BALLS. Make's sense!

At this rate, I might have to seriously consider cutting down on the food expenditure.

Don't kid yourself Joe. Brown isn't in charge of the UK any more than Dubya is in charge of the USA. Please forward your query to MegaCorp USA Inc. and WotWotOldBean UK Plc. Cynical? Oh yes... Reality? Probably...

Cheapest is to order direct from the refinery, but you'll need approved storage for at least 3000 litres to make it worthwhile.
Wick actually is quite expensive, so I wouldn't bother with them unless you happen to be passing by!
Not too far to the Channel Islands, but even there nudging towards £1/litre.
Other option is to get approved for Mogas if you have low compression, a suitable fuel system and can get some without bio-ethanol contamination.
If you don't already, then setting the mixture properly can save you 10% or more.

Mark 1, you still need to get the stuff from the refinery to the facility and that involves using an appropriately licensed supplier, you may get a small discount for a bulk order (3000 litres or more as you say), but other than that, you'd still pay the market rate.
As has been said, unless you happen to need to go to a cheaper airfield or have one within the immediate vicinity, you're stuffed.

Dont kid your self. The price differential between AVGAS and MOGAS is much smaller in the UK than in the US.
The real problem with AVGAS is the relatively small volumes consumed/manufactured. Last I heard was that the annual UK consumption of AVGAS was equivilent to ones days London rush hour consumption.
So considering the premium its not that bad.
What will go down is the tax.

EGLD is 1.47 incl.
Mr Darling is laughing his bollox off! All that extra money from the VAT on the rising prices means he can afford to delay the 2p Duty increase. How clever and kind is he......not!
We need to do something, this is bloody 'culous.
FTWDK EGLD = Denham
