Anybody know of a single engine to rent "cheap" in the Cannes area?

PM's would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I live just outside Cannes - there are plenty of rental aircraft, all about the same price. You are best off just choosing a type that you are already familiar with. Aeroclub Antibes have DR400 Robins, UACA have a mixed fleet of Pipers, Cannes Aviation are all DA40 and DA42. You don't say what level your flying is - but Cannes Aviation are an FTO and will expect a higher level than the other aeroclubs before they let you go solo. On the other hand, some of their instructors speak a bit of English so if you don't speak French you may have to go with them.

Thanks for the quick answers.....

I was looking for an occasional rental. Maybe private owner.

Lots of C172 time... just over 700 hours, total time 6000.

Want to take some friends up and down the coast when they visit.

Cheers

Only place in Cannes you can rent reasonably freely is Cannes Aviation, the FTO, on one of their DA40's or DA42's. All the others are "associations" a la francaise, so require you to join for the year or part thereof, so no day or week memberships, as we would be used to in the UK.

CA are highly professional outfit, although a bit bureaucratic. All their instructors are meant to speak English, quality varies a bit though.

Ask for Christian Pervieux, he's a really sound guy.
