Satelitte Weather

Hi there,

Does anyone know if Sat WX etc will arrive in Europe any time soon? There must be a fair amount of demand for it, esp as VLJs etc arrive?

Very very unlikely.

Any half decent jet will have its own radar.

That leaves the "IFR piston" and the "low end of the VLJ" (e.g. Diamond) as the market, which is very small.

MT in Germany already have a satellite phone based weather radar product - entry level about £5000.

The MT product does not give real time weather. It is delayed by 15 minutes and it is next to impossible to get a signal from the sat phone that it uses in the cockpit.

Come and borrow mine IO and try it. You know where to find me.
