Robin Spares

I have a Robin HR100/200 and my maintenance facility (Mann Aviation) are having difficulty sourcing simple spares under certificate ie. replacement hoses, aileron bracket etc.

They are supposedly being manufactured from drawings in Dijon but they claim to have lost the drawings.

New Zealand based Alpha has bought Robin but not supporting this model, I am told.

Has anyone had similar experiences or found a solution?

I read somewhere that the outfit in NZ that bought all the rights, drawings, manufacturing thingies and everything for the R.2160 from Apex France brought out an updated version and then went bankrupt. Anybody knows anything about this?

I have to say that in 4 years of DR400 ownership I did not have a problem with spares support ever. This was is sharp contrast to AA5 support, which was poor at best. Admittedly the DR400 was a lot more reliable than the AA5, so it needed les bits to start with.

Edited to add, a new co has taken over spares supply for AA5’s since I sold mine. I have no idea if this makes any diff or not!

i'm doing my ppl at earls colne and they have 2 robin hr200 I believe they have them serviced at Andrewsfield maybe have a word with them

Interesting

How is it that a company can lose all the drawings for its parts and components in a fire at a single site?

Also, if they have, how can they keep a type certificate for the marque given that the NAA organisations need to be sure that the organisation needs to be able to support the owners and operators..

The wooden wonder DR400 is still being built by Apex in France.

Apex sold the rights for the 2-seat HR200 (two hundred) aka R2000 aka Alpha 120/160 to Alpha NZ, who went bust a few weeks back when their investor pulled the plug.

The poster wants parts for the four-seat HR100 (one hundred). Who holds the TC for this and produces parts?

My experience with APEX is good regarding spares for my Robin ATL. However they like the orders to be in French, and correctly referenced to the parts manual. Orders in English tend to be ignored, or subject to delay.

Maybe try Germany?

Robins of all sorts are quite popular in Germany. (A few years ago I got my SEP on a DR400, and I love it!) So it may be a good idea to get in touch with one of the local specialist MRO shops. E. g.:

Thanks for all messages.

I am now in touch directly with 'a man in Darois'. It seems 'Apex' still deal with the HR100 from France and Alpha NZ (former) have rights to the 200. I suspect some of my problems arise from using a maintainance facility not used to Robins and the means to procure parts. I will try Lasham Germany and any more of your kind suggestions.

I am very loathe to change aircraft as not mutch, even today can match the HR100/200, 210,s speed, load carrying and endurance.......and they look pretty too.

We had to wait for 6 weeks for a new noseleg to be fabricated in France for our DR400 when it was bent (not me!)

Pain in the proverbial, especially when not of a patient disposition.
