Consultation Date Extended
According to Tandridge, the consultation date has now been extended to 30/01/2008.
They have also opened up a consultation application with Reigate and Banstead (New ref: 08/00097/CONLA) which closes on 07/02/2008. (Curiously this is 2 days after the target decision date).
Anyway, please continue to submit your comments and objections as they will still be considered if there is enough time before a decision is made.

Planning permission refused
I've just received this E-mail from Tandridge council:
So it looks like good news this time around. Well done to everyone who sent in their objections, we live to fly another day!
Dear Sir/Madam,
Application: TA/2007/1794
Proposal: CHANGE OF USE OF LAND AND BUILDINGS TO BE USED AS AN EQUESTRIAN CENTRE.
Site: REDHILL AERODROME,KINGS MILL LANE,SOUTH NUTFIELD
I refer to your recent comments on the above proposal. These were carefully considered before the application was determined.
I would now inform you that the Council has decided to REFUSE permission.
Yours faithfully,
R.W Evans
Director of Planning

Yes good news indeed.
I hear a rumour that there are two organisations who currently own other airfields who are interested in buying Redhill.
Could be good.
Regards,

Part of the problem is possibly that the District Council; has consistently turned down any and all proposals RAL made which could have enabled them to run a profitable GA business.
I suspect that the equestrian centre was refused out of habit as soon as they read the name at the top.
The District Council is of course driven by/owned by/afraid of the small group of people who live in South Nutfield overlooking the airfield, who come together under the name of KRAG.
