IIRC the humble/standard Grob <can't remember the number> MG is also aerobatic. Reviewed in Pilot a couple of months back.

motor gliders + aero's

thanks folks....so it seems that the rf4 is aerobatic and the rf5 is semi aerobatic....not sure about the Grob 109...and I once saw a Stemme 10 doing a loop. So, if you can think of any others please let me know. Ta.

Wrong, Grob 109s and 109Bs are NON aerobatic.
See flight Manuals.

I can't remember the types, but Chris Rollings and his lady partner flew at a recent Farnborough show (2000?) where he was towed up in a glider by the lady, who was flying a powered glider, and they then did formation aerobatics.

Chevvron, I recall that Farnborough duo - Chris Rollings' lady partner was Tizi Hodgson in a forebear of the Diamond Star - Tizi was also a member of Skyhawks after Brendan O'B left...

As I recall the K16 was cleared for basic aerobatics with the engine off only!

Motor glider aerobatics

There are a number of high-performance motor gliders with retractable engines that are semi-aerobatic with the motor retracted. Examples include DG-400, PIK-30, and some with sustainer motors like Ventus/Discus Turbo etc I'm not sure about motor gliders with fixed engines/props.

A factory fresh Grob 109 was looped etc with a mate of mine alongside the test pilot during the pre-delivery testing, but they are not cleared for such manoevres in the UK (or presumably in EASA land), why I do not know (manufacturer not prepared to pay for the extra certification?)
I used to loop & chandelle Falkes many years ago without any problem (just watch the entry & exit speeds) but they are getting very old now & I wouldn't risk it personally. The RF4 is lovely to aerobat but can flick if your not careful - again though they're getting old.

Brasov IS28M2a, they could be aerobat reasonably well. Not sure on the glide ratio though, always looked/felt heavy to me.
