Cool Great Flying Holidays?

As the year draws to a close and the days remain too often dull and overcast, thoughts of "what new things to do in 2008" begin to percolate into the inner depths of the grey matter.....what great flying holidays have people tried that they would recommend?

I want to try something with a bit of adventure.

I've looked at a couple of the websites that advertise cub flying in alaska for example which sounds fun.

Anything / everything considered but preferably out of the UK where we can hope for better weather!

One of the aims would be to get a good amount of flying in over a week or two.

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas all.

South African Aero Safari

Haven't done it but if I had the money that would be my ideal flying holiday

Try the waterfall approach at Vagar in the Faroe islands.

We did Denham-Carlisle-Stornoway-Vagar with a layover in Stornoway waiting for the wx window to get in. This was last August. The cloud at Vagar was OVC008, the best it had been for a while.

If you're going in a single, WEAR immersion suits as well as life jackets and a liferaft, ELT etc.

Full details in the Danish AIP.

Cheers,

In fact, I am going to be doing some flying with Jay Goodwin in 2008. He comes highly recommended from some of the folks at the supercub.org site:

www.youflyalaska.com

Check out Shaun Lunt's website for Alaska Super Cub pics:

Shaun has also flown with Jay.

An aviation version of flotilla sailing in New Zealand. One day I might even do it: http://www.flyinn.co.nz/

Try David Budd at Ocean Air floatplanes, Patricia Bay on Vancouver Island. Go in July/August, the weather is great and the flying is fantastic

Chisau - sounds terribly toilet-like to me!

Florida to the Caribean via Bimini, Bahamas, etc.
Cape Town to Cape Town via Namib, Bots, Zim, Zam, Moz, Swazi, Lesotho.

Have done both and would like to do them again one day.

UK to Finland via Dover is one I've looked at recently.

Hope this helps.

Chisau, how about doing some strip flying in the Idaho backcountry. Some spectacular settings and what looks like very challenging flying. Use Google and look up names like Mile High, Wilson Bar and Soldier Bar.
