Stockholm
I'm planning a trip to Sweden next year and would like to visit Stockholm. Does Bromma accept light a/c? Are the aeronautical natives friendly? How much for landing? Does anyone have any suggestions for other airfields in the area? And, how easy is it to get in to town?

Sweden is very Ga friendly. Bromma has loads of light aircraft, and its a big country out there, fuel is cheap.V easy to get to town. if you want another adventure and a great place, try Tallinn Estonia, not too far away. Have fun!!

I have not been there myself yet (prolly need to get my PPL first!
)... But word on the street is to choose Barkarby, ESKB, rather than Bromma, the latter being mostly a quite expensive airliner and bizjet place these days... But that is something you'd have to look into.
Perhaps you might find any of these interesting:
AIC for foreign visitors: http://www.lfv.se/upload/ANS/AIP/AIC%20A/A3-07.pdf
FPC, for weather, NOTAMS, AIP and such: http://www.lfv.se/templates/LFV_LFIStart____4353.aspx
A few helpful hints about light GA flying in Sweden (if you gloss over the first two paragraphs about our club!): http://www.aeroklubben.se/International/English.aspx
From what I hear about some other European countries, Sweden appears to me to be a quite GA friendly place... I hope you'll feel welcome here!

Bjorn,
thanks for the helpful pointers. Out of interest, is it possible to hire a light a/c from your club as a visitor or a temporary member? Or perhaps anywhere else you know of? I'd love to get some more flying time in Scandinavia (managed to get just over an hour in Norway last year, loved every minute).
Cheers

Thankyou for the info. I had looked at going to the Lofoton Islands in Norway but it is too far north, so Tallinn after Stockholm might not be a stop too far for a flight from and to the UK.
