Where can I get Student PPL Insurance

Hi All,

I am going to the USA in Jan 08 to Tradewinds Flight School in Orlando, Florida. I am wanting to take out insurance to cover me personally for accidents, death etc to cover my lovely new wife!

Does anyone know who insures against this kind of cover? and a number/name for them if possible.

I am told I am fully covered for the aircraft incase I have a heavy landing etc.

Help!

Possibly or probably to be corrected but the Life insurance that I had to take out for my mortgage covered the PPL training, albeit it the UK. I did specify that certainly for the period of training that I would not be doing over 100 hours - if I did I would have jacked it in gracefully!!

Check with present insurers etc before forking out for any more cover.

Do a search of pprune as I'm sure I saw mentioned on here recently that the insurance offered by US schools/renters is only applicable to
U.S. CITIZENS!
So you might need personal cover for the aeroplane too.

You are right I read that too, I think in last months Flyer magazine!

I have raised the question with the flight school and they assure me I am fully covered, they seem to have a good rep as they are the oldest US flight trainning school.

Cheers

They are pretty good and have various options for cover for flying in the USA.
