Isaacs Fury

Hey y'all,
I'd like to chat with some folks who have built, fly, or maintain an Isaacs Fury. A little background info, all my time except for 300 hours or so is tailwheel, I've only owned biplanes (a 450hp Ag Cat + a Ranger powered Great Lakes), and I've maintained, rebuilt, and restored airplanes for a good while...never have built one though. So would like to talk with you fellas/gals about the beautiful Fury.

I'm presuming that you know about the Popular Flying Association* ? If you are then read no further, as you'll know that John Isaacs who designed the Fury was one of the PFA's founder members. Unfortunately to access the PFA bulletin board, which would be the best place to find Fury owners/builders you have to be a PFA member.

Also, in the UK there's G-INFO, the database of all registered aircraft. You can search it based on type as well. Here are all the registered Furies:

Yep, I have John Isaacs' book, have the Fury plans from the PFA, have been studying them for about a year, and have about half the wingribs built. Just trying to find anyone who has actual hands-on practical experience with the Fury. So far I have only found one guy in the US who has flown one, and it was so long ago he doesn't get very specific in his answers, but still regrets selling it.

I have flown the Fury, very nice machine and you should have no problems flying it with the experience you quote, all in all a nice handling aircraft with few vices (at least the one I flew), just don't put the static vent in the cockpit - I test flew one after the owner had crashed and repaired it twice and it was stalling 2kts above the speed he had written down as the approach speed -ASI was wrong because of incorrect static info!

i am in the middle of putting one back in the air hope to fly it early next year, paper work will probably hold it up. as i am approaching the end of the project its getting exciting and you know what they say if it looks right it will fly right and it looks right

Fury parts

Hi I had the privilege of rebuilding and owning the original Isaac's Fury with around 100,hrs flight time in her.i compiled a complete photo record after find ing the wreckage in a farmer's field.
If any one is now building a fury please contact me through the forum I have many
parts that I would gladly GIVE to a serious builder but be quick moving home so must go
