Attention all Jodel owners operating on a CofA

Attention all Jodel owners operating on a CofA

Message from Graham Clark:

Some grapevine news. A usually reliable source at PFA Turweston tells me
the UK CAA is planning to write in the next few days to all registered
owners of DR1050, DR1051 and Jodel 117, 120, 140, 150, 100, 105 that
are now on a Private Category C of A.
My source confirms these aircraft will in future no longer qualify for a UK Private Category C of A. The CAA and PFA/LAA are to initiate a
one-year rolling transfer programme.
Do you know anyone who owns such an aircraft who may not be on this
list, or who is not a member of the PFA? It is an urgent matter that all UK owners are made aware of this pending situation to ensure we do not get caught in the same mess that embroiled Auster owners.
I am planning to identify the owners and run a tick list of who knows,
and who may not, with the objective of getting the message to them.
Owners are welcome to contact me off-line ([email protected])
Although the CAA has no choice in its decision to issue Permits in lieu
of C of A, they feel impelled by UK legislation to 'consult' before it
goes 'official'. If they do not (or if 'we' do not respond) the whole
thing could end up in the hedge.
The PFA/LAA and the CAA are working closely together to try and make
sure that does not happen.

If you have an aircraft of the type(s) listed above, write a letter of
application now to:

Mr Howard Dyer
Applications and Approvals
Civil Aviation Authority
Aviation House
Gatwick Airport RH6 OYR

requesting transfer from Private Category to Permit-to-Fly.
Please tell Graham Clark at:

[email protected]

who can then put a tick against your registration.
