Anyone been to Rhigos, Wales?

I've FINALLY found the hangars on Google earth but cannot make out where the runway is!!! Not a lot listed on the web about Rhigos. Anyone know runway(s) direction and yardage?
Thanks

Rhigos

I think the link Foxy Lady kindly left for you is for a hang-gliding club in vicinity of airfield.
Ive been into Rhigos many times with a Cessna 152.
Its got a runway aligned approx 26/08 @ 7-800m. Its got an upslope for around the first 2/3rds of 26 which then tapers off and slopes down for remaining 1/3rd. Surface is reasonable.
The main hangar/clubhut is in the NE corner of the field with a couple of smaller hangers in the SE corner. The runway itself is more or less straight due west of main hangar.
There are wires on approach to 26, but as i recall, shouldn't cause any probs... unless you end up way too low.
Very friendly reception on arrival. True aviators.
Forget the exact freq they use on gliding days.... Think its either 130.1 or 130.4

My apologies.... I used to work not far from Rhigos, and always thought that's all was there.

Try this:

http://valeofneathglidingclub.braveh...m/contact.html

Note the description of the 'strip:

"...It is curved, narrow, drops off steeply at each side, has a pronounced slope from east to West, and is often too soft to operate off."

Pooleys also mentions gliders, glider cables, and sheep!

..And if you are still interested, its 09/27, 550 metres and strictly PPR.

Airfield shown as 780 ft AMSL and located at N5144.55 W00335.00

Best of luck!

Thanks, chaps.

Looking at the photos, I think I'll Go Around from here.

Maybe the spring will bring more appropriate weather.

Has anyone been in here since this post was posted? I've tried to find out what I can but can't reach anyone? Quite a difference between a 550m strip on a hill and a 7 - 800m strip on a hill!
