Flying Outide of the UK (IOM)
Can anyone clarify the exact requirements of flying from an undesignated airfield in the UK to another undesignated airfield outside the UK (Isle of Man). I'm aware of the requirements to submit a Flight Plan and GAR to Manchester and IOM Police but what exactly do I need to have present on the aircraft? Just making sure...wouldn't like to get there and have overlooked something.
Thanks in advance

You will need to submit a special branch form to special branch in Manchester and IOM. You will also need to submit an ICAO flight.
It does not matter if it is undesignated. On the ICAO form put the destination airfield as ZZZZ.
I take it you are going to Andreas.

I am semi based at Andreas.
The runways are pretty stoney. I am fairly sure you will end up using 11/29. If so stay to the north side of the runway and you will avoid most of the stone patches. Bothe runways are about 1200meters.
Try to make all circuits northerly (away from Snaefell) as you will get some pretty ****y mountain waves on a windy day.
It is also fairly safe to ignore the tafs/metars for Ronaldsway. I have only once in 5 years not been able to get in to andreas due to weather. If Ronalds way forecast fog or broken at 200 I would be 95% sure that Andreas is clear enough to sneak in at 700ft or more.

NI is. ("United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".)
IOM isn't.
IOM isn't.
The island is not part of the United Kingdom, but external relations, defence, and ultimate good-governance of the Isle of Man are the responsibility of the government of the UK.
