Airside Risk Assessments

Now I know we all have a good understanding of the risks associated with being airside and I know there will be cries of Health and Safety police BUT

I have been asked a question from a professional non-flying perspective and in an attempt to avoid the nausea of creating one myself and missing any less than obvious risks; "Does anyone out there have access to an example of a typical risk assessment that has been carried out relating to working airside at a regional airport?" If so can you either PM me or post a link.

"airport airside risk assessment" on Google turns up quite a few PDFs, in particular a risk assessment for refulleing operations and staff involved there in, and Risks associated with attending and airside incident for Hampshire police officers.

You've probably looked at these already but they should provide a starting point.

We have an aviation recruitment division - I'll see if there's anything which we might have access to which I'd be allowed to distribute.

Cheers,
Duncan

and this: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/lo...0/00858645.pdf

"Operational safety implications on airfield services at a civilian airport" appears to be reasonably relevant (with a focus on electrical systems), alas I'm not a member of the IEEE so can't access it - looks like you could buy it though.

Ah, this would be the reason for closing Lee on Solent, then!

Yep it had to them didn't it. Sad to relate that the only document I found of any real use on the web so far was created by Hants Police

If it's not overkill, one of my colleagues should be able to dig out an email address the former Safety Director of BAA who now has his own consultancy. Is that too hard core?

I would have thought that any reasonable manager at a regional airport would agree to supply copies of a few illustrative assessments; it's not secret or sensitive. They simply show that the airport's doing its job properly.

I certainly would have done; unfortunately I have binned all the material now.

I recommend picking up the phone and asking your nearest licensed airfield.

Hard core overkill does it for me I'll be pleased to get anything that saves me thinking too hard!!!!

Also onto my local field so with all the great word from the Hants Constabulary and the above I think I should be able to prepare something useful.

Thansk to all
