So how did Seething go? Any photos?
Was hoping to display, but wasn't sure whether I would be away for work so said it was best to say no. Turned out I was around and so I popped up to Cromer to bid farewell to the old strip.
Also landed at the nice new strip and was able to make some smoke for the folks at both.
We'll all have to pop up to Cromer for a day on the beach with our buckets and spades someday soon. The new airfield is very swanky with two runways, (both level), new facilities etc.
Will be a shame to stop using the old one, like the old Hong Kong airport it took a bit of getting used to and it had its fair share of victims.

Well ,I will find out for sure in the next 24 hours but given all car parks were full to capacity It appears to be a record attendance. More to the point though was the great atmosphere. Not only was the flying programme without doubt excellent and well recieved, the ground display / activity field was heaving and buzzing big time too !!!. Great weather albeit "breezy" played a big part but the organisation as ever was first class.

Mmnn, quite a mean wind - 40 to 50 degrees off and between 15 and 25kts across.

Must get that leaky exhaust seen to! Funny how at the speed of heat, the 4 cyl Lyc just puffs out little smoke balls at one stroke per metre!

Good day out. Kind of knew it would flow well, right from the briefing. Dave CAA E in the Harvard and Maurice H in the P51 opened and closed the show. Loved Nick R in the Fiat G46. AVM Chris in the Berkutt, the Cassutt boys, Bird-dog, Leopard-Moth/Chippie, some tyro-Arab bloke in the Chipmunk and the Jodels were all pretty impressive. Stan (Martin-Baker) in an RV8 looped and swooped and Peter T pitched up prior to the official start and raced his Mk IX Spit around. BBMF Hurricane declined as he was out of his x-wind limits at RAF Conningsby.

Good atmosphere. I reckon that there were 2300 cars so I guess about 4000+ spectators.

Next year we'll be there as a two ship!

Thanks

Thanks to those who turned up to support or perform. ZA we had two cancellations on the day so could have slotted you in but all go a bit hectic so couldnt find your number to give you a call. Next time!

Shame we couldnt have the Pitts two ship but I caught some of their practice on Saturday. It will be a good item in the future.

Sad to say it but the best act was a non East Anglia act - Fiat G46. Great piece of flying from Nick Richards. Having said that all of the items (with perhaps the exception of some Chipmunk flying) were of excellent quality.

error

And yes I was using shorthand with 'Pitts two ship'..... I do know the difference between a Pitts S2 and a Christen Eagle.
