I need a plane to rent in San Diego.....help :)

Hi guys.....

I'm taking a holiday from yawning my way around europe IFR and I'm going to...THE STATES....yay Downside is it's only for a few weeks but while I'm there I'll be dusting off the FAA ppl and was thinking of renting a plane, something like a 172rg or 182.....Must be high wing! Question is does anyone know a good small school to rent an aircraft from as the organisation I used for my PPL closed down some years ago. I was planning on a trip from San Diego area out to monument valley, down to Las vegas and back to San D over three days or so..........any recomendations? I'd really like a plane with a gps of some sort in the absence of an FMC .....Thanks in advance.......tailwinds

I rented a PA28 at Jean's Flight Training in May/June. On their website it shows that they also have access to a 172 and a 177RG.

The school is located at Gillespie Field, KSEE, and has a 1 hour minimum rental.

also at Gillespie Field, in El Cajon just east of San Diego

Golden State Flying Club http://www.gsfc.com/

Fun people, small club, have been there since 1968. They run the fueling operation at the field.

check them out!!

I can also recommend Jean's Flight Training. Golden State are quite friendly also California Flight Academy at Gillespie are nice folk.

There is another operation at the field which in my view would be best avoided though.

Cheers
