French magazine article on Thielert

Anybody here got access to the current issue of Aviation et Pilote magazine? The synopsis on their web site implies that Diamond are having big problems with Thielert, and I wonder if the article backs this up.

Yes, this is nothing new. It was reported in the German Sunday's some months ago. From an abstract perspective, with such a complex engine there was bound to be legacy issues that built up over time to hamper the first OEM relationship.

Likelyhood is Cessna will get a tried and tested product under their agreed SLA and will have a fruitfull relationship.

The 2.0 engine has got rave reviews from mechanics compared to the early 1.7.

We should have a Cirrus announcment within 6 months.

The French magazine article seems to be specifically about the DA42, and I wouldn't have thought any early 1.7 engines went into those.

About 80% of DA42's are operating with the 1.7

I'm a big fan - it just took them time to get the product right.
