Easa Reg Aircraft

Can any knowledgeable person please advise on the regulations covering flying of easa registered aircraft. Essentially the UK CAA say that in order to fly say a Dutch (PH) registered aircraft on a CAA licence one needs the permission of the Dutch CAA. The Dutch CAA disagree but I need some "chapter and verse" so to speak.
Thanks

It rather depends upon what pilot licence you have. If you have a JAA licence then you can in theory operate an aircraft registered in any JAA State on that licence. As EASA have now consumed the JAA, an EASA C of A is in theory valid in all JAA States.

If you have a national licence issued by a JAA State then it depends upon the individual State of aircraft registration as to whether they will accept that licence. In your post you indicate that you have a UK National licence in which case the UK CAA cannot grant you the right to fly a Dutch aircraft. The Dutch being quite sensible appear to be saying as you are from a JAA State and Holland is a JAA State its OK. The Swiss are not so helpfull.

If you have an ICAO licence issued outside the JAA then you can exercise PPL privileges subject to the requirements of the individual State in which the aircraft is registered.
