Getting FAA Certificate
Am intending to fly in the US this summer, so need to get an FAA temp certificate. I last did this in 1996, long before that dreadful day in 2001, so I realise the process has changed...I understand the CAA have to authenticate your UK PPL or something?
Would someone be kind enough to outline the current process, plus any advice?
I though I'd ask on pprune first......

IF you received a FAA certificate issued on the strength of your UK license, you will have to go through the Cert of Authenticity process.This process involves the UK CAA who have to confirm to the FAA that your UK license is valid and current.
If you have traded your UK license for a JAR license the number will be different, in that case you have to go through the "validation" process.

Been there - got the tee shirt
Have a look at the other thread hereabouts as I have just done the route got the tee shirt and so on. It was all pretty easy but give me a shout with any questions.
