Rotary to fixed wing training

I have slipped across from Rotorheads and as I am soon to be changing lifestyle I am seriously considering obtaining a fixed wing licence to fly privately after years of corporate helicopter flying.
I would appreciate any advice and or suggestions.
I have held a helicopter licence for 40 years. I am based in NW England and will move to NE Germany permanently by August this year. I have considered taking a course here and use my JAA CPL/H/UK credentials to get a JAA/PPL/A/UK licence. Or should I do a course in Germany?
Anyone advise?
