Bournemouth Airspace - Changes? What Changes??

There's a bit on the CAA's Amendments for the Southern England & Wales Chart 32A -
(Sorry for the loooong URL thingy but I haven't a clue how to shorten it!) .....

http://www.caa.co.uk/application.asp...etail&chart=11 .......

In the "Amendments yet to become effective" section (scroll down to the bottom to find it) that perhaps someone can explain...

It says Ref 9940 - Effective 15.03.2007 - Details 'Changes to Hurn Airspace - More details to follow.'
What's going to happen?
Was there a discussion about it?

Whilst we are on the subject of amendments - To be introduced at the same time as the above - It's also nice to see that they are going to revert to the "R41" designation of the 'N866' Airway down towards the Channel Islands - Pity they don't raise the base of the blasted thing at the same time!

Hmmm....Never heard anything about the Hurn changes....Unless it is something along the lines of raising Bournmouth CTR to 3000 and won't directly affect Class G airspace users?

The airspace changes are to do with the HURN Sectors at LACC (The London Area Control Centre at Swanwick).

For drivers of airliners or anyone that operates above FL155 ish there are some BIG changes to the airspace and routes WEST of SAM ORTAC, and also to the routes into the LTMA from the South and the West.

Consultation? Yes, about three years worth with those that are affected and also a comprehensive environmental impact study and consultation.
Some of it is here.. http://www.nats.co.uk/text/107/hurn_consultation.html

For the vast majority of the GA community there are no changes at all.

Taa muchly Bex boyo.
I shall sleep well tonight knowing that the world is probably safe in your hands.
Now, Part 2 - What have you planned to do with N866/R41?
Raise the base a bit?
Push the Aurigny blokes up a bit and give us mere mortals a bit more of a safe height margin?

Nothing planned. The current base level is the remit of CAA (DAP), not ATC.

You could try contacting them for their thoughts on the matter.
