Hi,
some 18months ago I was on a fly-in in Cannakale organized by Istanbul Aviation Club, this was a very nice and well organized event with very friendly Turkish pilots from airclub in Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Istanbul,
one of the organizers was Mr. Turgut Kulaçoğlu

The Canakkale fly-in was superbly organised by the Turkish pilots, even as far as getting the avgas bowser to drive there all the way from Istanbul (resulting in an avgas price which was almost as high as Lelystad ) but I got the impression that GA in Turkey is hard work. The place is very militarised and foreigners are tightly controlled - even within Turkey they are required to use Customs airports. No doubt, it's a lot easier once you have the right contacts.
