very easy, steps for those with short legs, you can alight at either wing in case of inclement conditions at your parking spot.

Vaguely remember reading about this a while ago.
Something to do with copying the way a bird flies...in the sense of adjustable wing tip feathers....like so..

And before that, in the early 80s; there was a Pawnee (or similar) operating out of the Cranfield Institute of Technology with modified wingtips for the same reason. I doubt that was the first attempt, either.
