great lakes biplane
Just had the pleasure of bimbling around Santa Monica in a Great Lakes for a couple of days and I was curious if there are any on the UK/euro register, or is it an "experimental" jobbie. The FAA give it a normal certificate.
Anybody know?

There are three on the UK register (plus a Baby Great Lakes PFA type.)
Had several hours aeros instuction in one in AZ a few years back. Great fun.

Why do it if it's not fun?

Had 10 hours aeros instruction in one in AZ (wonder if it was the same place as DaveW?). Fantastic aeroplane - very capable, but slow and draggy enough to actually appreciate what was going on (unlike, for example, the Pitts Special).
Sorry, I haven't helped answer the question, but you reminded me of my own experiences and put a big on my face!
