Skills test for rating revalidation
Apologies if this is answered in another thread somewhere, but I have done a search and nothing came up.
My SEP rating expired on the 1st December 2004 (not having flown since early 2004) and am now looking at starting flying again. From reading LASORS I understand that there is no mandatory training for me to undertake, just that I must be able to pass a skills test and an oral exam as part of that.
What I am not clear on is if this skills test is just the handling part of the test I took to gain the licence or if it includes the navigation exercise as well ? Can someone please enlighten me.
Thanks for your help

It's not the same test as the initial PPL but it will include a small navigation element. The examiner's crib sheet will give you a good idea of what to expect:
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/FORSRG1157.pdf
You will be doing sections 1,2,3A,4 and 5

Thanks for the help.
I've just read through the JAR-FCL 1, is there any way they could have made it any less user friendly because I don't think so. That has got to be one of the most confusing documents ever written.
Thanks to Stan for the link to the CAA check sheet, much more understandable.

I was in the same boat as you early this year,My revalidation was a 1 hour flight just like a 6 month dual check with the CFI only differance that I had to pay the CAA about £55 for the privelage. Nothing like the skills test much less informal
