The feedback is almost invariably phoney.
It is indeed a scam, but they still seem to catch one or two suckers - I have actually seen people bidding on these items.
Sometimes, the ads carry a message "Do not bid, contact me for a 'Buy it now' price"
I tried this out of curiosity, and got an e-mail back asking me to send US$400 by Western Union Money Transfer to an address in Romania!
I have reported these phoney ads to Ebay, but they still seem to appear.
Beware folks!

Unfortunately, it seems the glory days of Ebay were over far too soon. I've been caught out once - the seller sent the wrong item and got abusive when I asked them to change it. They did eventually send the right thing, but not without chasing and negative feedback from them.

Someone actualy bid on it and won also the postage was quoted at £45!!
It might not actualy be phoney, although i agree it is highly suspect. Plus i think ebay is ****e nowdays. If you dont get ripped off you usualy end up with complete toot.
I wouldn't mind a 396 fo £150 though.

Neither would I, but lets be honest, it ain't gonna happen!
I note that the 'seller' was in the Netherlands but the 'item' is located in China?
Yeah right............
Ebay is OK as long as you are very careful. Useful genuine bits of kit like second hand GPS units do come up for sale, but quite honestly I can spot the phoneys a mile off.
I feel kinda sorry for the suckers that do bid on the phoney items though.
Wonder what would happen if you were to set up a phoney Ebay account and bid about £1000 for an item like this, and then didn't pay.
On the other hand, could I be bothered? Ebay clearly aren't.
