Garmin 196 PA-28 Yoke Mount?

Hello

I've recently switched from a C152 to a PA-28 but my Garmin 196 came with a Cessna yoke mount and I've done numerous searches but can't find a yoke mount for a PA-28 - can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks...

Hi, I've got a 296, the mount is similar. Garmin do a mount that clamps on to the control column (should be able to get it from Transair) in my Pa28 Archer - works very well.

I have a 196 and I have always used the standard clamp that came with the GPS when I bought it. This fits on the Cessna and the PA28. Wasn't even aware they had special clamps that only fit on the Cessna !

mmm...or maybe the PA-28 i fly has a different type of yoke? There is nowhere behind the yoke to clamp the mount - believe me i tried for 15mins in the heat of yesterday!

If it is a plane specific thing then no wonder i can't find a special mount anywhere on the web!

Don't want to sound like a smartnose, but you do try to connect the mount to the metal tube of the joke right ?

Mine looks a bit like Pudnuckers' especially the way it is connected to the yoke is identical.

This is the problem - the plane i fly doesn't have a metal tube behind the yoke to connect the mount too (my current mount looks like the one in the link above but there is nowhere for the clamp to attach itself too!)
