Well done for getting that shot. I'm sure it seemd to bank another 20 degrees before leveling off.

One of the most impressive displays I've ever seen. Might even steal the show. You get so used to airliners doing their ultra economic, noise abatement climbs that you forget they are actually pretty manouverable.

Anyone know why its here. Trying to inspire all the Kiwis to go back home and join up?

Kind words 18 Greens - they certainly know how to fly it. Guess it comes from throwing the 72's around.
More pics on Spectator's Balcony - Airliner pics and a couple of my older GK ones too.
I do know why they are here......but all I'll say is they are going home to God's country and back for Waddington

Great show! Particularly liked Kiwi 757's after take off antics and never having seen Utterly Butterly in action before I liked them a lot too Pitty about the Red's calling off the show due the TRA infringement.
I had a small airband receiver with me at the show yesterday and shortly after the Red's called Kemble to announce their arrival someone Mayday'd. The Black Cats (Lynx Copters) and Delta Jets were loitering about in the air at the time. I didn't catch the callsign of the aircraft declaring. After the red's landed the Mayday was downgraded to a Pan. A short while later the question was asked, "Are you 100% sure you want to display?" and the display appeared to continue as normal. Made for interesting listening for a PPL student like me. The Tornado's aborted takeoff too was also a point of interest to me.
I hung about quite a bit longer than joe public as I knew most of the aircraft were departing shortly after the display. Snapped quite a few of you GA folk on your take off rolls and climbout into the orange hue'd clouds but unfortunately none of the shots turned out particularly well. As the Red's departed someone was descending dead side. Lined up on 26 and cleared for take off the Red's punched their throttles and turned on their landing lights in perfect sync as only the military can. A few seconds later all the noise and action ended - landing lights off and throttles at idle again in perfect sync. Stern mention was then made of the fact the Reds do not fly with anyone in the airspace. Kemble Info and the guy descending dead side began discussing their options - The reds jumped in to the conversation and instructed the descending traffic to remain 2000ft AT ALL TIMES!!! (mentally insert various military style threats) How can you argue with that Hehe. The Red's flew off and the guy eventually joined the circuit and landed.
All good. Thanks to all who worked to make the show happen. Thoroughly enjoyed myself

Kiwi 7572 - great to see you guys - hope you'll be at Avalon next March.
Look forward to seeing the pic at the top of the climb

PB - I heard a rumour that Her Majesty's Flying Club donated a sticker for your port winglet
Was that JR hands on in the R/H seat

Wow! Great photo's Sharpshot-1. Am only a humble PPL student armed with point and shooter but I am always inspired by what other's can achieve in terms of photographing aircraft. Particularly in-flight.
Here's one of mine from the show: I'm calling it "Dude! Where's my helmet?"
