Leaving North Weald-Bashette...........

Dear Mods - Please could you edit the thread title to read "Leaving North Weald - Bashette". Double please, could you leave it here rather than moving it to the Bashes forum? Thank you kindly, sirs.

Keep your diaries free for the evening of Wednesday 14th June for my leaving do.

Bringa Bottle 'n' Burger Bash

1900 onwards
Outside Hangar 4, North Weald
Err ... bring a bottle and burger... (and a chair if you can).

I'll supply the BBQ, plates, cups etc and a few bits of food/drink. Not knowing how many people are expected, I can't feed/water everyone.

Wet weather alternative:
Meet at The Squadron bar same time.

Devil

What on earth has happened. I thought you had firmly taken root at the Weald.
Cheers,

It's all academic really!

Good luck with with your new job at my alma mater.

Oxford is so much more civilised than Cambridge.

Bloody Hell - will you still be around afterwards for a while, or are you heading off to somewhere like Perth, Australia?
Who will provide me with sympathy on a weekend when I ask for a roller because my gear is down and won't rise? (Rather than the "we don't seem to have you booked in for circuits....")
Is the siren-voice moving to Duxford?
Will you still contribute to pprune?

G-KEST - don't panic, this is entirely my decision! NW was never going to provide me with a career. My brain was starting to go stale and I need a new challenge (and more money to fund flying). It all seems a bit sudden because I'm really keen to get started in the new job.

D SQDRN - I'm not going far, just to Oxford. I'll still be around ... if only to keep an eye on what AerBloke is up to with that Seafire. Oh, and to make sure you do actually take me flying eventually! I do intend to keep working at Duxford, but it'll be weekends only as I move to a Mon-Fri, 9-5 (ish) job. And yes, I'll still be here to make and receive smutty comments.

Does this mean that we might actually see you in the left hand seat of a certain taildragger a bit more often?

AB,

Congratulations. I seem to remember that you were talking about moving on when we had a chat at Fly!. The bad news (but it s too late for you to do anything about it ) it that you're moving a *lot* closer to where I live There's a severe risk that I may even offer to take you flying sometime

Brooklands
Damm - now I'll have to find a different excuse for going to the Weald

The send off ...

Keep your diaries free for the evening of Wednesday 14th June. It'll be somewhere around NW, as I'm working there until about 1900. Details to be fixed when I've tried bribing/begging hangar owners!

What will you be doing at Oxford? i.e. which frequency do we need to call to get those dulcet tones?

I'll be working at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. Using my degree for something constructive at last! There will still be dulcet tones at Duxford on some weekends though.

Ah, welcome indeed, AB, to somewhere very close to me! Most of the Wellcome IT staff are ex-where-I-work in the University and the facilities there are pretty amazing too. When you've settled in, perhaps I could tempt you with a flight from the University Parks one fine evening?

Sorry.
It'll be weekends only, from now on. Need to get myself moved and sorted before I can get down there again though ... why do these things take so long?!
