Landing at Stanstead

Looking to drop some people off at Stanstead tomorrow morning early.

Does anyone know a cheaper handling agent there, or if i go to a flying club or something (if there is one?) or am I dreaming?

Nearest airfield I think is Andrewsfield, probably cheaper than Stansted including the taxi fare!

My log book shows I have been in there for fuel in a PA28. However that was in 1975 so it's possible that some changes may have taken place since.

There is no local flyiong club at Stansted. I would suggest that Inflite would probably the best company to contact. It will be expensive!

Another alternative to Andrewsfield is of course North Weald, both being only about 15 minutes from the terminal.

Mine shows I landed there in 1977. Landed on the nos., and had a long taxy to the stand.

Recall having a cuppa in the Nissen hut canteen with my FI, and his next pupil, Roger Whitaker. All the old dears behind the counter had him signing napkins - being 17 I had no idea who he was.

I was working there and still they wanted 3 days notice, a landing slot, handling etc. Why? Because they needed to allocate a stand for C172. No kidding!
