Free PPL course? No, it's not too good to be true!
Just in case people aren’t aware .....
The Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators offers several scholarships to assist people who would like to become pilots or to further their qualifications as pilots.
The Scholarships programme is intended to assist people who might otherwise not have the necessary financial resources:

The Scholarships programme is intended to assist people who might otherwise not have the necessary financial resources:
- The Scholarships cover the cost of direct training and examinations.
- Costs of obtaining Medical Certificates, and any associated travel, subsistence, and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of Scholarship winners.
- Training will be completed during the summer of 2006.
Ø Full PPL courses – fixed-wing only
Ø Flying Instructor (R) – fixed-wing and rotary
Candidates short-listed for the Scholarships are required to attend for an interview in June at the London offices of the Guild.

The PPL interview is preceded by a short written examination to assess numeracy, literacy and mental agility.
Candidates for an instructor course will be required to make a 10 minute presentation to the panel.

Many thanks for a timely reminder. For some reason I thought the deadline was in June. I applied last year but was declined
