I've posted elsewhere that I began my illustrious 40-hour flying career 25 years ago with lessons at Sunderland Flying Club, and I have always thought it was one of that borough's (any borough's!) biggest sell-outs that the main runway was ploughed up when Nissan moved in. Now us aviating Makems have but blissful memories of Halcyon days under the distant sillhouette of Penshaw Monument.

Any more of you out there?
