Drinks in London...............
Hi all. Used to have a regular drinking session going on with the private flyers here in London but have not had one for some time now. Forum is getting busier these days, lots of new names around so how about a drinks evening in London sometime?
Couple of weeks time would be good, I remember someone here saying Thursday is the new Friday so how about we do a Thursday night in a couple of weeks. Who would be up for a chance to chew the fat with fellow aviators and the likes of..........?

Maybe Thursday 2nd March would be a good idea?
Ray Hanna's Memorial Service is being held at mid-day at RAF St Clement Danes, a couple of minutes walk from the 'Old Bank of England' where previous London meets have been held.
There'll be lots of aviators (famous and the rest of us, Ppruners/non-ppruners) attending that, and I doubt if they'll disappear off as soon as the service is over. There are several good pubs and wine bars very near the church.
BTW, the Memorial Service is open to anyone.
Details here Link

The 2nd would be good but I am nights that week.
I was thinking more of either the 16th or the 30th, plenty of notice for everyone then.
The curry sounds good. It would be a good idea to meet for the curry beforehand, say around 5pm then on to the OBE later on. I have found in the past that this works well.
Any suggestions for pubs or a good curry house here please!

....can't make 16th I'm afraid, I'm off skiing, and I'd really like to put some names to the PPrune 'handles', so if it could be the 30th it would be appreciated. Thanks, but I'm sure there'll be another time if not.

Curry House recommendation: The Rajasthan II on Minories
Too many pub recommendations to list, the Fine Line's OK and thats close to the Rajasthan
Curry then drinks seems the wrong way round to me BRL by the way ;-)
Edited to add just noted the recomendation for the OBE. In that case, the suggested curry house would be the Rajathan 1 on Lovat Lane

Has to be drinks then curry. Everyone knows it takes at least ten pints before a curry tastes good.
Don't think I can make either sadly, but I'll keep watching for info.

where in town are these two places. If I can't make the curry (not a fan of hot food) then would come for a pint.

I'll give this a few more days now. Will happen at the end of the month if you want.
The Old Bank of England pub is just up the road from Farringdon station. down Fleet Street towards the Strand.
Beer then a curry looks like the plan, will post a date in a few days time.
As always, keep the suggestions coming where to eat drink etc. Time will be from mid afternoon I imagine.

If you are thinking of the Farringdon area, may I suggest City Raj? It is a great Indian restaurant on Farringdon Street, just under the Holborn flyover. A 3-4 minute walk from the Underground/overland (Brighton-Bedford Thameslink) station.
There are also some great bars/pubs in the immediate area like Smiths of Smithfield, The Last, Bar Ember, The Hoop and Grapes and many more......
