It's actually a replacment door, though still largely opened. After 4 flights over the course of two hours, at -18 degrees C, it was time to stop for the day, and go inside! I never seem to get these test programs on the nice summer days...

Skeeter pilot, That machine is just beautiful! It must be a delight to fly. Rotor turns in the French direction?

Pilot DAR,

It is an absolute dream to fly.

Anglo/French - That sounds better

Wood and Fabric main rotors and a DeHavilland engine ..... what more could one ask for? Second thoughts, don't answer that!:

Not sure who turned their rotors that way first but everything else about the Skeeter is English right through from the design to manufacture. Every component on the machine is english made, I doubt there are many rotary wing aircraft where that is the case.

until the engine stops. Ex Army Air Corps colleagues of mine tell horror stories of Skeeter engine-offs!

Perhaps because of the low inertia of wood and fabric rotor blades?

Brilliant pics from two of my most favourite ever places on the planet, Canada and Ireland.

Pilot DAR, no need to apologies at all. I just didn't want the next page or so clogged up with Skeeter posts!

Your pictures are great and I thank you for posting, they remind me how beautiful Canada is and why my kids have dual citizenship for Uk/Canada

NZ holiday

Fantastic holiday a couple of years ago

Mount Aspiring - NZ flying holiday

Big Bay beach landing

Milford Sound - yes that is the runway! and you have to approach from the other end !! left hand, around the mountain (keeping it tight), descend in the gap in the distance -amazing !!

"Buddy" on finals , big mountain on the right, very interesting circuit pattern

Google FlyInn - you wont be dissapointed

Still frozen north here, but what fun!

A channel in one of our pretty lakes makes a perfect runway...

A break from the arduous task task of evaluating a new wheel ski installation...

Stop at a remote lake fly in on the way home...

Do all Cessna 206 have droop ailerons, or is it just those ones with overgrown appendices?
Interesting pics anyway
