Vulcan Bomber at Blackpool

Just seen it on the news, the vulcan bomber at the entrance to Blackpool airport has been sold for scrap after the deal to sell it fell through. Very sad.
Any one know how long it has been there??

I first saw it during PPL training - March 1983.

I will have to look in my log books, I was working for Blackpool Aero Club when BB bought it and flew a C185 towing a banner to welcome it when it arrived.

Re: Vulcan Bomber at Blackpool

I would imagine that the cost of removing it will far exceed the scrap value!

If you have Google Earth try this link for another Bomber
