PFA aircraft in Ireland?

Owing to the IAA's unique ability to be closed for up to 3 months at a time for Christmas, I was wondering about something that's confused me for a while (yes I'm easily confused)

Namely, can anybody build a PFA administered aircraft in Ireland? We don't see to have the same system, and I've seen a few EI reg Europas over here - maybe they were just imported from the UK and re-registered? The IAA website doesn't even hint at the regs, and Ireland is small enough that the amount of homebuilders could probably be measured in single digits in any given year.

Any thoughts?

Confab, you can fly a UK built PFA aircraft here on a UK permit.
The IAA techie guys need to rubber stamp it, but, unlike some of their colleagues, they are the most helpful of individuals.
SAAC, the Irish homebuilding lot, can also get permits issued for Irish built homebuilts and have a good relationship with the IAA.
There are a couple of inspectors around who may be PFA, SAAC and microlight inspectors at the
same time.

Con,

I know it hasn't been updated in a very long time, but you might find this web site useful.
