Oban Radio – Suspended!!
Oban Radio – Suspended!!
Morning,
Just called Oban this morning for PPR to be advised that their radio service has been suspended for the foreseeable future and must contact must be made with the local council authority for PPR – Yeah, like they’ll be working on a Sunday!!
Managed to speak with one of the guys on the ground there to be told that fuel is still available which is great – but you can’t get the fuel if you can’t land.
This situation seems ridiculous!
Does anyone else have more info on the situation, I would assume this is linked to the new expansion plans for Oban and not something more sinister.
I hope this is not a further nail in the coffin for this fantastic airfield.

Almost certainly suspicious. "Rumour has it" that the same consultants who 'advised' Sheffield City Council on closing EGSY are now advising Oban Council.
Can you get an out of hours form like you can from HIAL?
