That's strange that picture. I'm sure they don't normally touch down like that. Indeed this one may not have, you can see a large nose down elevator deflection which may have been applied after a normal touchdown in order to keep the nose wheel firmly on the ground. Some airlines do that. But this picture does look a bit excessive!

Generally, the guys who fly these thing are pretty good. But I'd suggest that they probably had a bit too much speed at this particular moment - it happens to us all. But the guys who could really do this well (especially at airshows) were the Royal Australian Air Force doing "two wheel" landings and ground rolls before going around in the DH Caribou. Most impressive.

If the aircraft were to approach slatless it would have a very low nose attitude, a slightly late round out and Voila!
