Mountain Flying in Europe
Hi,
I'm interested in going to either France or Switzerland to get some mountain instruction. I've found on an internet link to the French Ass of Mountain Pilots which is very useful for France but can't find anything on Switzerland.
www.afpm.org
Can anyone point me in the right direction? And do the Swiss have a formal mountain qualification like the French?
Thanks for any info.

www.gletscherflug.ch/ASPG/ is the official site but a bit out of date. More interesting is:
http://www.gletscherflug.ch/
This site is in German, but the bottom most link takes you to the English version of the site.
The French qualification looks more attainable if that is what you are after, with about 20 hours required. There are separate winter (snow) and summer qualifications.

Swiss Aeroclub is at http://www.aeroclub.ch/. An email to them might provide some info.
Also worth digging into is http://www.nelly.ch/01map.html which is simply a well organised set of links to anything to do with aviation. Look at www.nelly.ch/map for an interactive map of Switzerland and click on some of the airfields near the alps for info about clubs etc based there.
Also worth a look are.
