Red face PPL ground studies

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me if the PPL ground studies are needed to start the flying and if whether or not i can start my ATPL without the PPL ground studies????

Do i need to pass my PPL exams to start the flying?

Im really confused Please help......

if you are doing a JAA ppl, there is not a requirement to start flying, however for solo and solo-cross-country there are requirements.

if you are doing your ATPLs, you will need to have a valid ICAO ppl, before taking the first written exam. However this is not applicable if you are doing an integrated ATPL course.
