Thank-you to RAF Warton
Would like to pass my thanks for the excellent Flight Information Service I received yesterday from the controller at Warton between 1730 and 1830. It was my first solo on the northern route, and I was very well looked after, and made to feel at ease, with such a busy circuit at the time, with a fair amount of traffic.
Very friendly and professional - thanks

I think you're confused by the MATZ, Warton is owned by BAE Systems, they sell aeroplanes to the RAF, but it's not an RAF airfield.
That said I agree, I've used a service from Warton several times in the last couple of years, and the level of professionalism and helpfulness is exemplary.

very friendly lot and home to the Lancs ASU (police chopper - whatcha Droopy).
Used to work there as a flight test engineer on EAP (became EFA and then Eurofighter) back when it was British Aerospace - Military Aircraft Division.
Either way, you're still liable to get a harrier through the cockpit if you mess up ....
