CAA/PFA/EASA Permits

Low'n slow, we (the Airtourers) have joined your "Orphaned Aircraft Home for the Bewildered" and are debating how we should proceed. There are possibilities in both the C of A and Permit arenas but does anybody have chapter and verse on what an EASA Permit might entail. Genghis did mention that it could be what's issued for a flight to a maintenence organisation but nothing more. What are the main drawbacks to a CAA Permit? PM me if you don't want to be quoted on a public forum.
I have to say that the CAA do seem to realise that the letter of 14 March has caused a problem and they semm eager to help but what route are the Austers taking?
