Pprune Priority
I am organising a charity air day for the East Anglian Air Ambulance on Sunday August 14th. The event will revolve around a 12 act air display with various activities on the ground. A small number of visiting aircraft are being invited to attend and to form a static display for the ground visitors.
As I am organising this it only seems reasonable that I give priority to PPRUNE members wanting to participate. There are unlikely to be be landing fees although a donation to the air ambluance charity will probably be suggested. Ground visitors are being charged £10 a car I think.
Confiirmed displays include Extra 300, Yak pair, Ryan PT22 (thanks Hairy), Skeeter, Harvard, Mustang, Spit, Beech Staggerwing and a few others still being worked on.
The event will be at Seething in Norfolk (EGSJ) with airfield open for visitors by air from aroun 9.00 local to 1.00 local then closed for arrivals or departures until the displasy finishes around 4.30 local.
We think we can accomodate around 35 - 40 visiting aircraft (in addition to display aircraft).
Perhaps we can get a PPRUNE party and mass arrival?
Post here or PM me if you want to be added to the list.

This is a good idea FF. A worthy cause too I might add.

(sorry anti-sticky brigade- it is only a few days to get it noticed........)

Have a word with that Staggerwing owner and tell him that he should give me a lift, since he'll be prevented from leaving our airfield if he doesn't.
And he can give me a lift back in the Mustang.
Would love to join in, but it's a bit too early to know my plans. Put me down as a positive, definite, maybe.

I understand that this is about to be 'unstick' so thanks to BRL for sticking it in the first place and to those who have responded. Perhaps a little too early for an August event so I will remind people closer to the time. In the meantime those who have said they want to attend please ither PM me or send email to [email protected] with aircraft reg, type and ETA (local) and I will arrange PPR numbers to be e-mailed back along with updating on any other info prior to the event.

Well, since the Schweizer I normally fly was written off a while ago and a replacement has not yet been found, it is unlikely that I will be flying in but I'm working on Plan B!
However, I will be there.
Where do we meet up and how will we recognise each other.... clue... I'm short, fat and forty (and in case you haven't worked it out; female!) with red hair and pint glass in hand!
Cheers

Well Spotted
The 'open' bit should have said 'open for arrivals'. Departure from the end of the display (1630 local).
For recognition purposes i will be running round like a blue xxxx fly organising things then putting on flying suit to join the chipmunk four ship. Ask any of the members for Ian Davies and they will be able to tell you where I am (I will be on a radio for most fo the time).
Hope to see as many PPRUNE People there as possible.
No admission charge for the display for visiting pilots by the way.

To the Formation guys..
Any update on the charity airday at seething?
I will be in the UK for a couple of weeks and am visiting friends near Woodbridge over that weekend and it sounds like a worthwhile event I would like to attend, if sadly only by car. Is it still going ahead/confirmed?
Regards, SD..
PS. If anyone happens to be flying in from anywhere near Woodbridge with a spare seat available, I would be happy to contribute to costs etc in order to get airbourne...BTW, I am not familiar with the area any longer, what aerodromes are there near Woodbridge, there was an airbase there, now closed?

What - only 3 days to go to one of the best airshows in East Anglia.
Skydriller - there is a small strip, Cherry Tree Farm at Monewden which might very well have aircraft coming north. About 9 miles from W'bridge. Alternatively there is Crowfield just off the south-easterly start of the A140.

Hope it goes well.

What a wondrous thought.
I always use champagne as a mixer with which to create a Pimms, preferring, as I do, the No 6.
Real wormwood distillation is hard to find outside some little valleys in the land of the mountain gnomes, where, of course, it is still very illegal. It might drive you quite mad! HE! HE! HE!

This might turn into a rather bizarre thread-drift but absinthe is now legal in the UK; bit pricey but you can get it in Tesco!
...and if you could let me know where I can get hold of Pimm's No. 6, I'd be eternally grateful!

Certainly can do that for eternal gratitude.
Majestic usually stock it. It's now called Pimms Vodka Cup and I think it's on special offer at the moment at about a tenner a bottle. Try it with dry bubbles drunk (which you will be) from a silver tankard.
The land of the singing postman must be East Anglia ?
I know that Norwich Majestic do not have it in stock but Cambridge did this morning.
Incidentally, as a matter of interest:
Pimms 1=Gin. 2=scotch. 3=brandy. 4=rum. (yummeee) 5=rye (yuk)
6=vodka.
Hope that helps. Happiest of sloshing to you.
