Jesus wept! Would that thing still fly or be flyable after some restoration? Gotta be looking at a serious ebay fee for that one!

It's got to be knackered, sitting by the coast for that long, it's probably not even good enough for scrap.

It is knackered, front nose wheel support is cracked so it can't be towed, they won't let anyone on it now, and the cockpit is smashed by vandals. There is another thread all about it somewhere else on the site, will try and dig it out.

Ebay Vulcan

Buying it is the easy bit, getting it out will be the difficult part so...step forward the men with the blowtorches.

mazzy - XH558 is still grounded at Bruntingthorpe after about 10 years restoration - the chances of that flying again at at best 50:50

I thought XH558 had got the lottery grant they wanted? Reckoned it's got another 9 or 12 years showing left after resortation is completed....

Cool

If the Vulcan doesn't appeal because it's not quite large enough, here's another aircraft that you could purchase.

Interestingly, looking at the bidders currently in the lead on the Vulcan - one is into collecting Ducati motorcycles amongst others, the other collects toy cars, Newcastle United shirts and X-Box bits hehe.

Yes I was bored. Nothing sinister in my delvings, its info open to all if you are registered - just to pour water on the inevitable flames

I hope it goes to a good home and not a scrap merchant.

Alegedley its being sold to relinquish the land back to the airport to help expansion plans.

Cheers n beers

It appears that the Vulcan auction is spiralling out of control. At the moment the bidding is up to £5,500,000 and the winning bidder has feedback on two items – a denim skirt and a pair of jeans.

I think it may all end in tears.
