Importing an Aircraft
Does anyone have any experience of buying an aircraft in the States and bringing it back into the UK ?
Given the good exchange rate at the moment, there are some bargains to be had ! Our group is contemplating the purchase of a Commander 114B.
What are the financial 'extras' that need to be paid - import tax? CAA registration? etc etc.
Thanks
Graeme

Hello
My company BIG MISTERS SHIPPING CO LTD does just that !
www.bigmisters.co.uk
Give Jon Woods a call at the office and he will try and answer all your questions from a 'shipping' piont of veiw.
Please remember however to do your 'homework' regarding what work will be required to bring an N reg a/c up to CAA spec.
Your in the right place here on Pprune ! There is a wealth of information to be found + quite a few people who have already imported their own machines and can advise on the 'Dos' and 'Donts' ! ! !
Good luck + safe flying !
