Question Administrative costs for PPL?

I finally got my brand new shiny PPL license in the mail, and although I was prepared, I got into small shock when I read the cost - 11365 Swedish kronors, that''s about £840 (GBP) or 1230€. This includes theoretical test, practical test and administrative license cost for 5 years.

This is a large chunk of money. How much do other countries' authorities charge (CAA for example?). Is it as overpriced as here in Sweden ?

UK NPPL £132

FAA - Free

But that's just for licence issue, exams have to be paid to your examiner. I think that around £25/exam for 7 exams is about right in the UK, and both sides of the pond a couple of hundred for the skills test / check ride.

Not free, but still much cheaper than you've had to pay!
